Tommy & Ruby Durham
Tommy & Ruby's mom, Etta Luticia Brasher Durham Martin Redwine was a traveling evangelist and unfortunately, left them to whomever would take them. They just had the two of each other. Both had tough/painful lives. My Mammaw was their half sister and was raised by someone else (Aunt Annie). I was just thinking about them today and how their bond must've been incredible. I wasn't able to meet Aunt Ruby but I was able to meet Uncle Tommy once in 1988 on a visit to Florida.
When you're doing genealogy, you know that you'll be open to all stories, including Pandora's box of pain. My heart has been so broken for my Great Uncle & Aunt and the void and loneliness they felt.
