JOSEPH LARKIN CASTEEL

Joseph Larkin Casteel was born on April 24, 1889, in Englewood, Tennessee, his father, Francis Marion Casteel, was 28 and his mother, Sarah Cook Casteel, was 19. He married Rossie Lee Gay on May 19, 1912, in Monroe, Tennessee. They had 11 children in 20 years. He died on July 28, 1970, in Athens, Tennessee, at the age of 81, and was buried there.

Four brothers that served during WWII receives recognition from the VFW. J.M. (seated) passed away on January 4, 2005 approximately 3 weeks after receiving this recognition.

6. Sherman Othel Casteel b. September 26, 1926 in Englewood, TN and d. January 16, 2020 in Monroe, TN

7. Vivian Margaret Casteel b. July 10, 1929 and d. March 27, 2014

7.  Charles Leonard Casteel b. August 17, 1934 and d. November 4, 2006.
