Obituary: Stanley G. Vaughn

Stanley G. Vaughn




Stanley G. Vaughn, 72, of Seattle, a former long-time Entait and Wenatchee resident, died in a Seattle hospital on Sunday.
Mr. Vaughn was born May 10, 1896, at Medical Lake and in 1898 he came with his parents, J.G. and Eva Vaughn to the Entiat area.
He attended school there and later attended business college.
During World War I, he served overseas and when he returned, he married Florence Rice in 1919.
The operated an orchard in East Wenatchee for many years. Mr. Vaughn was employed at the post office 10 years until his retirement in 1958. Five years ago, he moved to Seattle.
Mr. Vaughn was a former member of Calvary Bible Church, the American Legion Post 10, and the 40 and 8.
He is survived by his widow, Florence; two daughters, Mrs. Rawland (Mary) Taplett, East Wenatchee, and Carolyn E. Wiehe, Seattle; three sons, James F. Vaughn, Seattle, Homer Vaughn of Sacramento, Calif., and Lowell Vaughn, Renton; five brothers, William and Elmer Vaughn of Wenatchee, Daniel Vaughn, Winthrop, Herbert Vaughn, Long Beach, Calif., and Alfred Vaughn, Seattle; two sisters, Mrs. Flora Overman, Long Beach, Calif., and Evaleen Ambler, Seattle, 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Betts Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
